“On the verge of releasing my fifth EP called ‘Through Which Daylight Will Pour In’, I’ve come to accept that I have a tendency to work in opposing directions from EP to EP. Where ‘Stories We Tell Ourselves’ is more ambient driven as an antithesis to a loud and angry self-released EP, ‘Small Gestures’ as a follow up is an exploration of musical complexity, all while trying to navigate through and within the outer limits of the same musical universe.

And while this EP as a whole is harmonically not necessarily less expansive than its predecessor, It ended up in a poppier and more accessible realm through layering of sound, softening the blow of the more daring harmonies scattered throughout the EP, and using lyrics as opposed to my usual wordless vocalization of melodies. Along this more layered approach, there also came an urge to broaden my usual palette of sounds, exploring instruments and techniques that I’ve never used before as a way of elaborating on more familiar textures.” – Analogue Dear

Analogue Dear – Dots & Lines (ft. Azuria Sky)

You were right when you said you would turn out to be
The lonely boy that I would already see

When you grew tired of
Looking endlessly for all those ways to fix
What’s left of the bitter taste
If she only knew how you wanted to believe
Every subdued smile she threw at you
After she walked out

It lingered in your mouth
For such a long time
And it was so clear to me when
You left town for

You never really learned to tell any difference between
All the dots and lines that made up her heart
She was only trying to mend
While her eyes said goodbye
If she only knew
How much it would tear you apart
