This week in 2001, Artful Dodger unleashed ‘Twentyfourseven’ as their eighth single, issued on 03/09/01 via London Records’ FFRR.
Originally featured on their debut (and only) album It’s All About the Stragglers, the track was reworked for single release with a new edit featuring labelmate and All Saints member Melanie Blatt. This version reached #6 on the UK Singles Chart and entered the Top 40 on the Eurochart Hot 100.
The stunning music video was directed by filmmaker and photographer Jamie Morgan, celebrated for his contributions to fashion, photography and music, directing videos for artists such as Bush, Richard Ashcroft and Sugababes.
Since then, the track has been included on later editions of the Artful Dodger LP, as well as on the All Saints best-of compilation before their hiatus in 2001.
