Should major decisions that affect the future be made without the direct consent of the people?
The original Constitution of the Irish Free State once provided citizens the choice to challenge laws and bring forward proposals of their own. After Michael Collins, those provisions were removed in 1928 and were never restored.
All over Europe we’ve seen too much Government overreach. The people should have the right to vote by referendum on major issues that affect their country, rather than seeing more power transferred away.
