Bronski Beat were a British synth-pop trio formed in 1983, best known for their politically charged lyrics addressing LGBTQ+ issues and social justice. Fronted by Jimmy Somerville, they gained international fame with the 1984 hit song Smalltown Boy and became one of the most recognizable electronic pop acts of the mid-1980s.

Following Jimmy Somerville’s departure, John Foster joined as lead vocalist for the group’s second lineup, featuring on hits such as ‘Hit That Perfect Beat’ and continuing their success with later releases.
