‘Perfect Storm’ was born from a transatlantic collaboration between the duo and Peter McNestry (Pink Elephants, Canada), who sent an early instrumental of his composition with that title. Amanda’s lyrics followed naturally, channeling the music’s atmosphere, which Mick then extensively worked on, adding guitars, sound effects and backing vocals — bringing the storm to life.

Lyrics:
Insurrection of salt today
Before I cause the storm
Lightning thunder and water stare
While I become the storm
(the storm, the storm)
My path seems to cross through your desert land
So you should wait to crawl away
Because some other might want to steal
What you sow in it
The lust, the fire, I’m craving for
Desires that hide in the mud
(desires that hide in the mud)
The clouds will conceal with such intimacy
How I become the storm
(the storm, the storm)
You should see between light and shade
How I’m raining on this land (this land)
My intention’s to come to you
While I am raining down
I want to come along (the storm, the storm)
And be your perfect storm (x2)
And you should not try to evaporate
What has fallen down
I am raining down
To be your perfect storm
Perfect storm
To be your perfect storm
Perfect storm
To be your perfect storm
