Now back home in the mountains of Colorado, Josephine’s 20-year journey to this new nirvana becomes enthralled further with a symphony of synths that sound like they are played in some neighbouring netherworld, through cotton gauze.

Josephine Foster’s exuberant orchestrations counterpoint her luscious vocal on ‘Guardian Angel’, return on ‘Flask Of Wine’ to add further layers to proceedings. It’s the echo of a sound, an eerie wisp that conjures potent and danceable magic on her new album ‘Godmother’. It’s there again on ‘Nun Of The Above’ underpinning the deep bass, compulsive dance beats, and rhythmic acoustic strum that’s central to this new album but which is allowed its own distinct gravitas courtesy of Josephine’s infectious and inventive song arrangements.

A beautifully observed baroque masterpiece, part dream pop, part futuristic psych-folk. ‘Godmother’ is out 28th January 2022.
