Jerry (Buckner) and Gary (Garcia) met in middle school. Their love for music brought them together playing in bands and writing original songs. In the fall of 1981 a chance encounter with a Pac-Man machine gave them an idea for a song that would define the worldwide video game craze as Pac-Man Fever and elevate them and their song forever in Pop Culture!
In addition to Pac-Man Fever, Buckner & Garcia have written, produced or performed on a wide variety of recording projects including the theme song for” WKRP In Cincinnati.”
Following Gary’s passing Jerry turned to songwriting and studio productions.
He scored hits with his song, “On And On” recorded by Anne Murray, The Wall recorded by Key Largo artist Bertie Higgins and the title track to the hit Disney movie “Wreck-It Ralph” which received numerous awards including Critic’s Choice for “Best Movie”, Annie awards for “Best Movie” and “Best Soundtrack” and was nominated for an Oscar.
Jerry also helped form Waffle Records for Waffle House Restaurants with original songs featuring Waffle House themed lyrics for the in-store jukeboxes. Writing over 24 of the songs on the jukebox he received an award for the most played song of the year in 2015..
In addition to pop songs Jerry also writes Contemporary Christian music
