I feel like one of my understandings during the process the making of this album has been that there usually isn’t just one answer to a problem— there are at least two answers that are both true. True maturity is taking responsibility for your own reality and the capacity to hold room for complexity and paradox. I hope we are on our way to a world where we will be able to harness the power of paradox and cultivate great nourishing energy from it.
I would like to choose a world where we don’t need deception to function. As much as I understand, that starts from within and with our capacity to be honest with ourselves, occasionally visiting the dark void to ask: “Where have I gone wrong and how can I make it better?” To only worship on the altar of logic and never of chaos, or to only aim for light and never understand darkness, will leave us fighting with one eye closed. What we resist, persists. No illusion // no enlightenment.
Might as well turn on the light when there is a lion in the room. It’s a long process to know thyself.
Culture starts from within. No matter how much money or status someone has, a person treats you in the way that they already treat themselves. Dehumanisation starts from within, as does lack. Someone who claims to not have a shadow is usually in the grips of it, but everyone gets lost sometimes and mistakes are inevitable. I’m very grateful to all the lovers and dreamers in our community, and I hope you soft souls are able to discern what is actually valuable and useful from what is not.
Aggression is life force and, when used correctly, can be a source of energy to make things happen. My true treasure and innocence is something that cannot be stolen. I wish to keep on surfing with you in positive self-referential reality tunnels.
